well.
that was pretty much a downer for the first exam.
it's the first time since i've entered ubc, that i felt i was going to fail an exam.
i knew it midway through the paper, when struggling to answer the first few questions of the exam, i flipped through the pages and to my dismay found that the other questions were equally hard
or harder.
and the annoying thing is even if i had to re-sit the exam, i would probably have produced the same outcome, the same chicken-scratches posing as solutions to problems
because it wasn't a case of not having studied enough or not doing consistent work
but a case of "oh my god, i really don't know how to answer these questions"
i have a sneaking suspicion i know why the prof for this course had to scale last year's class grades up by 20%.
it's for people like me who really need that kind of break.
although somehow i get the feeling i might need more than a 20% scaling up in marks for this paper.
oh well. it's back to the books for the other exams anyway, hopefully those will manage to keep me afloat.
