february faints in march madness

so... i haven't even indulged in my spring break yet when walking through the SUB today, two things catch my eye.

1. BURT BACHARACH is going to be playing in Vancouver on March 6th with the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra. Does anyone want to go watch this??? i'm at heart a goldie mouldie, and burt has composed and played (in my opinion) many timeless hits including the carpentar's "close to you", aretha's "i say a little prayer for you", costello's "What do you get when you fall in love" and that infamous song "raindrops keep falling on my head".

i wonder who will be singing his songs though.

but still people, BURT BACHARACH!!


ahem... i'm going to move on, because i did say there were two things.

2. Cuts for Cancer. so today they had this "rock for cancer" fundraising drive outside the SUB. and i freaked out because i thought that meant that the 'balding for dollars' or cancer headshave was pushed forward from like march to february.
Thankfully i was mistaken. the actual Cuts for Cancer is taking place in march, meaning i still have time to fundraise.
in the meantime, this post will act as a shameless plug. i have been contemplating shaving my head for the cancer fund donation thingy.. and i am collecting pledges for this.

so basically if you want to see me bald in march, contact me and we'll get this pledges thing going shall we?

and yes i do fear looking like a little chinese boy in the end.
