celebrity status

so i actually fell sick this week (and am still sick but trying to recover), and contemplated not going to school yesterday. Hannah (Lim), upon hearing this, was pretty much strongly opposed to such a notion of mine. she kept urging me to go to school, telling me that even if i'm sick, i really wouldn't want to miss the last day of some classes because you never know what kind of important information they might give out then.

i'm thinking in my head that it makes sense to miss the last day since it's just review anyway.

anyway she convinces me to go. and that's when i find out for sure the reason why it was so important for me to go to school that day.

on the lampposts marking out the stretch of road leading from our house to the main street were messages saying "happy birthday shu!"

that already made my day.

but surprise surprise. these guys went all the way. they posted birthday messages at the bus stop at school.
AND
they even tracked down which classes i attended that day and in which classrooms and even tacked up birthday greetings in those classrooms.

i swear i felt like a celebrity on campus.

thank you hannah, sarah, glen, elim and tom. you guys made my birthday very memorable and special.

random comment
from classmate who read one of the birthday greetings: "happy birthday shu"... (turns to me and in all seriousness) that's... that's not you right, because your name is shu lin?
