oh here they come, the beautiful ones, the beautiful ones
i've met a couple of beautiful people over the summer.
some were old friends, and some were new.
some were already beautiful to begin with, but recent incidences and sudden recognition/ realizations just made them shine brighter.
what made them beautiful?
for one, it was the gentleness and grace that she possessed. the natural and genuine concern that she gave to even the tiniest complaint. so much so that even if you wanted to play up a certain complaint and use it as a good story, the natural compassion she gave, just kinda made you shut up and realize that some things weren't worth joking about or playing up since it didn't warrant that kind of concern
but you're touched anyway
for the other, it was just the natural ease that she carried herself with and the way she forgives.
in her own words,
'i get it. people laugh at me, and i laugh with them'
this is why people gravitate towards her. she is natural, she is beautiful
there is also the one who makes an effort to talk, to seek out the other who is often quiet, or left out of the group, and goes out of their way to include them. the one who doesn't care for social graces and awkwardness but can cross over and befriend.
lastly,
i met someone who has learnt to be quiet. who knows how to graciously let others grab the stage. whilst everyone is clamoring for attention and trying to gain a little space to speak, to put forth their ideas; her beauty comes from her silence and dignity
i think it's been a span of two weeks. but these people have left an imprint already. if ever anything, i want to be beautiful like them too.
