a night full of people.
oh and by the way, you scientists or physicists got it wrong. solids can be compressed.
i don't think i've "met so many international people under one roof. even better, i don't think i've ever met so many people in one house.
until tonight that is.
me: "so this is the great guessing game but who do you know here?"
the multiple answers
"oh, i don't know who lives here, i'm just with the band."
"oh i'm in so-and-so's salsa group"
"oh i live across the street"
"oh i'm a friend of a friend but i don't actually know who goes here"
"oh i heard the band was playing here"
"oh i just met her this morning"
i had a blast. i'm amazed. and i marvelled.
and to top it off, my bus ride home was equally as packed, complete with all the downtown party people who were making their way home.
yup. i've never encountered so many people in such a confined space in one night.
but i think the person who made the best impression on me? the guy with a joint precariously perched on his mouth, giving up his handhold on the rail so that i could sneak in and have some bar to grip on, instead of tumbling into everyone else's back at the slightest jolt of the bus.
the little gestures always warm my heart.
