i think i'm starting to like being a nerd again.
i thought the events of last term had killed my love for learning, everything was horribly mechanical. it was mandatory of course, you had to learn the tools before you could use them.

but the problem was, the whole process felt like a memorization exam on the tools, and the different parts of the tools and its functions.

this term, it finally feels like we get to use the damn equipment, and apply the tools to something useful. it is almost as if we are finally left to create, expand, to polish and shine the framework. finally, we're getting our hands dirty again after staring at an instruction manual for the longest time. the equipment given can at last be applied to sharpen, modify and in some cases bring down entire structures.

this is what i like about school, learning, questioning, thinking, criticizing, analyzing and innovating.

oh yes, i'm becoming such a certified nerd again.

for some reason, i havent been to the library at all here to read or do work, only to pick up books. so, like you, my resolution is to become a nerd (again). nerdhood is often the solution to things, i think/hope.

glen!

i can imagine your room, the piles of papers and heaps of books all lining the floor while you work by the lamplight of your desk and contemplate how much reading you have to get done!!!

except in my mind your room is still olive green of course with paper lantern balls strewn across it.

where are you staying when you come to van? miss you!!!!
