there's something awkward and comfortable about talking to people you've met for only the second time.
there's something beautiful and humbling when people aren't afraid to point out your weakness, your flawed argument and unconsciously rebuke you in love.
i guess i appreciate the fact that they weren't saying things that i'd like to hear only.
upon leaving the church and declining a ride home
me: yeah i don't mind taking the bus, gives me more time to bargain with God anyway
ed: why do people do that when they know what the outcome will be?
me: *laughs* yeah, i know. in the end, i always go "god i give up!". but it's just human nature to, you know, resist and be stubborn
ed: or maybe that's just sin.
me: *thinks* yeah. actually that is true. good call on that one.
sin isn't just about disobeying the ten commandments. it's the absence of God, disobedience to God.
thank you ed. for calling me on that, for offering a ride back and for taking time out to get to know me.
thank you God for ed
