i swear there is a vortex outside buchanan tower.
because today i literally found the wind picking me off my feet and driving me in a different direction, opposite to my destination of intent.
i missed 6 buses today. they all drove by without stopping to pick us up because they were already too full.
and the crew of fellow bus-wait-ers with me got the final slap by nature and technology when a car sped by and promptly soaked all of us waiting at the bus stop.
half sputtering, half laughing, you could literally see the question going through our minds
"is it really worth going to school today for this?"
i did in the end, squeaking my way through the halls, my jeans cold and squelching with water, my toes a little frozen from being kept in perpetual dampness.
but mostly, i enjoyed the day. i rejoiced in the company of fellow bemourners of the rain, groaned with fellow students over the incredibly slow crawl-like pace of a particular class, and repeated my vow to many others about buying bright yellow rubber boots to fend off cold toes and wet feet.
however,
i think i do get annoyed with shiny happy people sometimes.
i'm not sure if it could be due to jealousy or envy
but i do think that in all those shiny happy moments, you can make really insensitive comments.
you shouldn't have to over-worry about what others think of you, or lessen your physical manifestation of joy for the other,
but i do think, that in the face of dialogue and insensitive comments, you've entered into an engagement where you must consider more than yourself.
so no, don't bend backwards for me. that's not the point.
but really awareness and respect is still something necessary.

YES YES YES!!! I think we all need to be more aware of our speech and actions. We assume everybody thinks like everybody else too often. Very narrow minded.
