perhaps i'm being elitist.

but its really hard to comment and carry on a conversation over the internet about someone's spending purchases. i listened as my friend droned on about her recent buys, that it was black grey brown blue. and i think the only comment i had ready at hand was " that's nice".

i get it when people are excited about their shopping day and how retail therapy fills you with a sudden dash of euphoria. ok good, i think we all need an outlet for that gush of happiness.

but i really don't know how to comment beyond "oh good for you!" especially when there's no visual to accompany the description of "i bought this this this and this"

perhaps some conversations still require a visual for the enthusiasm to be induced and sustained.

or maybe, on a more selfish note, i really just don't care.
