while i appreciate using technology to improve service, there's something about creating a mobile app to find the life-size character mascot that doesn't sit well with me. when i was a kid, part of the thrill about going to disneyland or any character-related theme park was the random spotting of your favourite cartoon character strolling around the corner. there's something exhilarating about snatching a glimpse of a orange and black striped tail in your periphery vision, and running after after the character in hopes of seeing it face to face.

using an app to hunt him down just seems like plain cheating. and well, where's the mystery and surprise?
