Amazing. FT ran an article on how the evacuees from Japan are forming micro towns to sustain a sense of order and have a system with which to organize people who have been thrown together in difficult circumstances.

Its very amazing to see how people are able to pull together in what could possibly be the bleakest moment of their lives. On another note, I don't think I know of any other people that are considerate to the extent that they find it difficult to impose on someone else even in the most desparate circumstances :

“When I’m awake at night, it’s amazing because I’m in this room full of people and there is hardly anyone snoring,” he says. “That’s impossible. It means that people are worried about causing others problems.
