I can't even begin to imagine the scale of the displacement cost, the lost lives and industries wiped out by the earthquake and tsunami in Japan. Then, there also remains the potential threats from fires in refineries and mechanical failures triggered in the cooling systems of nuclear facilities.
The mass of destruction is horrific and I think it is to the Japanese government's, the Japanese media and the Japanese people's credit that the impact of an earthquake of such a large scale has been minimized to some extent. If this had happened elsewhere in the region, I have a feeling the death toll would already be much higher, possibly in the tens of thousands. It is definitely to the credit of the Japanese that they have been so prompt and quick to react to the situation.

I truly grief over what has happened and hope that loved ones over there are able to find and contact each other .
